You will know how long it will take if you understand better the process and its various steps.
Start With an Estimate
When you are having problems with any particular pipe run or area of your property, we can give you a quick estimate of costs for relining those problematic areas. These projects require just a few days to complete and your tenants are hardly inconvenienced and there will be very little construction debris.
Opt for Pipe Assessment
Have us conduct a complete pipe assessment if that is what you want. During our pipe assessment services, we go through the history of the pipes in your building, the materials used, and any repairs carried out. We then use miniature cameras to carry out visual inspection of the insides of the pipes of your building. This will allow us to decide on the areas where the relining has to be carried out on priority and allows us to make a proper plan for the areas that need to be tackled first. Once you make a contract with us, we assume ownership of the pipes. What this means, is that even if pipes not ready for relining, fail, we will carry out its repairs as part of our contract. Large buildings then will have a long term plan for addressing an issue that can be quite significant. In such cases, the planned process of relining pipes in a large building can extend over a couple of years. However, this option is not as painful as the complete replacement of pipes, a process that is messy, expensive, and environmentally unfriendly.
How Does the Process work?
Pipe sections or runs that need to be relined are first closed off from the other piping in the building. All the pipes in the area that will undergo relining are drained, while a fine abrasive material is introduced into the pipes that can help to scrub the insides of the pipes. This process helps in the cleaning of all the debris and will remove any corrosion or rust that may have hampered water flow. Once this debris has been flushed out, the interior of the pipe is dried and then heated, after which a safe epoxy resin is introduced into it. The interiors of the pipe get relined by the resin and fill up any holes or spots that are weak. The pipe relining is then cured for 24 hours, before it is deemed ready to be used.
The relining of small pipe runs can take just a few hours to be completed. This entire process is much cleaner than the replacement of pipes, costs less, and the installation we carry out is guaranteed for 10 years. It has been proved through tests, that the relining of pipes can add a decade to the service life of the pipes of a building.
